About Lanzarote

Lanzarote Map
Lanzarote is the most exclusive of the seven Canary Islands. It is a beautiful Island with palm trees and miles of golden sandy beaches and is famous for it's impressive volcanic landscapes of nearly 300 volcanos. Being the most northerly island and only 95 kilometers off the coast of Africa Lanzarote enjoys year round high temperatures with more days sunshine and less days rain than any of the other Canary Islands. The waters of the Atlantic never fall below 18ºC which makes Lanzarote ideal for scuba diving and various other water-sports, or just for swimming in. For those of you who like to tour there is plenty to see around the Island, the Timanfaya National Park and Fire Mountains, Jameos Del Agua and the Green Caves to mention a few.
Lanzarote

You will find many tributes to him and his art; from his sculptures on the roundabouts, to his architectural buildings at Timanfaya, Mirador Del Rio, to his own Foundation located at his own home in Tahiche. César Manrique was the man responsible for shaping Lanzarote as it is today and for the future development of the Island, the main element of which being that any development must be undertaken in a way which retains much of the Island's own particular charm and personality.
